Looking to expand its presence in the highly-sought-after infill I-20 West submarket of Atlanta, DCT purchased approximately 47 acres in late 2012. In line with the Company’s strategic plan of developing high-quality bulk distribution buildings that complement its existing assets, DCT began development of a 734,000 square foot distribution building in 2014.

During construction, DCT received a great deal of customer interest due to the building’s prime location and modern features. As the building was nearing completion, a well-known internet- based retailer expressed serious interest in the state-of-the-art facility. The customer needed a large, Class A space that it could quickly occupy to meet the demands of the holiday season.

DCT’s local Atlanta team was able to quickly address the customer’s needs by giving them immediate access to the space while initial construction of interior improvements was being done. DCT’s team also ensured construction remained on schedule to facilitate material handling requirements. The flexibility of DCT along with its speed of execution to accommodate an aggressive timeline allowed the customer to be completely operational within two-weeks of signing the lease.
