As Vice President for DCT Industrial’s Dallas market, David Castro manages capital deployment which includes development and acquisitions as well as leasing with the Dallas market team.
Mr. Castro has more than 20 years of commercial real estate experience and has been with DCT Industrial since 2006. During his tenure at DCT Industrial he has transacted over 11 million square feet of leasing and has been involved with $149 million of capital deployment, including eleven acquisitions and eight development projects. Prior to joining the team, Mr. Castro worked with Cushman & Wakefield of Texas, Inc. (C&W), where he specialized in representing industrial clients and performing building and land transactions. Mr. Castro also worked as a Senior Financial Analyst for C&W’s Capital Markets Group, assisting with market research, valuations, financial analyses, and comparable sales analyses. Mr. Castro also has experience both as a property tax consultant—specializing in asset valuation and value negotiations—and as a development and acquisition underwriting analyst for a private real estate investment company.
Mr. Castro has completed Member of the Appraisal Institute (MAI) coursework and has held both a Texas Property Tax Consulting license and a Texas Real Estate Salesperson license. He received his B.B.A. with a double major in Finance and Accounting from Texas A&M University. He is currently a member of NTCAR, North Texas Commercial Association of Realtors and Real Estate Professionals. Mr. Castro also served four years on the Board of Directors of the North Texas Commercial Association of Real Estate Professionals.
